Nine to Five

The Origin

Dolly's working-class anthem gets a port city overhaul. The typewriter rhythm is replaced by pile drivers and techno kicks. It's 9-to-5, but the shift never ends in the 24-hour economy.

Yeah. Nine to five.
You work yourself to the bone in the city.
Get up, the alarm. Here we go again. A coffee and traffic jams. The Maas in my veins. to the office I walked soulful with a background choir as a man. For a moment, like you’re standing in a buzzing Rotterdam bar.
All fire, day after day, Sunday to Sunday. The work eats me alive, but I keep getting up.
Grooving through the streets. The whole city looking at me. Rotterdam never sleeps.
Nine to five. Nine to five. You work yourself to pieces, but you’re still alive.
Together we push through. We keep standing, even when the world collapses again.
Nine to five. Nine to five.
And when the lights go out, I feel my soul moving again.
Rotterdam my city. You keep me standing. You give me hope in the night. to five, what a grind in the city. Nine to five. You work yourself completely flat. Nine to five. For a dream that isn’t right. Rotterdam, give me more, because my heart keeps roaring.
Hey. Nine to five. In the harbor city the harbor city. Nine to five, in the harbor city. Rotterdam. I remain always true.

Do you work for the city, or does it work for you?

The algorithm has chosen your next destination.
