The inspiration for this track comes from the iconic collaboration between Shirley Bassey and Propellerheads in "History Repeating" (1997). That track combined the orchestral grandeur of Bassey's voice with the big-beat energy of the late '90s.

In "Echoes Through Time" we translated that tension to Rotterdam:

  • The analog warmth of orchestral soul
  • The digital loop of repeating beats
  • The emotional depth of a diva voice
  • The urban rawness of the port city

The result is a track that combines the best of both worlds: the timeless and the modern, the personal and the universal.

The Maasboulevard

The Maasboulevard is the setting for this track. This iconic strip along the river is where old and new Rotterdam meet. On one side, the skyline of offices and apartments; on the other, the water that has carried the same stories for centuries.

Why this location?

  • Historical: The boulevard was rebuilt after the 1940 bombardment
  • Architectural: A mix of post-war modernism and contemporary high-rises
  • Emotional: The place where Rotterdam residents come to think, jog, or simply watch the river

In 2025, the Maasboulevard is still where the city breathes. Between the bike paths and the terraces, between the joggers and the tourists, you'll find the echoes of everyone who has ever walked here.
